Steinhoff holds a significant interest of JSE-listed
AMAP, a focused group specialising in importing, manufacturing and distributing household electrical and electronic durable products.
AMAP
markets a number of leading global brands under licence including Brother, Carmen, George Foreman, Hoover, Pioneer, Remington, Russell Hobbs, Sansui, Tannoy, Toshiba, Behringer, Stanton and Polaroid. It also owns South African brands including Tedelex, Empisal, Salton, Saisho, Novex, Haz and Pineware.
AMAP’s appliance and electronics divisions are supported by manufacturing facilities and centralised corporate services.
Both the Steinhoff and AMAP
groups supply major retailers in South Africa, with AMAP
sourcing the majority of its products from Asia where Steinhoff has an efficient infrastructure. The benefits of these synergies are expected to emerge in product sourcing and supply as well as reciprocal trading opportunities.
Steinhoff has announced the disposal to AMAP
of its Furniture Manufacturing operations.
